Subtleness of Doubt

Don’t allow Satan to whisper in your ear. In Gen. 3:1 he spoke to Eve and she began to doubt God. He whispers in our ear to cause us to doubt God, our salvation and says we are too bad to be saved. Does our definition of good differ from God’s? Most people believe being a good person gets you to Heaven We think the true meaning of good is whatever gives pleasure, health, wealth, etc. God’s definition for good also includes discipline which is not always pleasurable. Being good is not God’s Definition. In Acts 16:31, the prison guard is told “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.” Put away worldliness Don’t get angry with the world. Remember Satan is in control, for a time. Keep from being polluted by the world, but be a witness of who Christ is to you. Receive the word of God by humility. Apply God’s word to our lives. Be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger.

Wisdom

James 1:5-15 Sermon 9/15/24 True wisdom comes from God. Things like Google, tictok, Psychics, Horoscopes even friends and leaders don’t have the mind of God. Who should we rely on? God sees us where we struggle and understands we all experience life’s situations differently. He gives second and even more, chances. He doesn't give up on us. When we pray, we need to be sincere and trust God for answers, especially regarding wisdom. We often hope without trusting God's promises written in the Bible. Where we stand, changes our perspective. When our eyes are on God, we learn to trust. There is a difference between trials and temptations. Trials come with God's provision to help us get through them. God grows us for the plans He has for us. They are not an our come of our sin. Temptations can and will lead to sin when we surrender to them. They come from satan and not from God. Do we have the patience to wait for God? We often expect God to answer like we fix food in the microwave, in a matter of minutes. Patiently wait on the true wisdom that comes from God. Read God's Word. Trust it, love it, adhere to it. It is His timing and plans that are perfect and not ours.
